Syrians commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Hama massacres that claimed almost 40,000 lives when the bomb was dropped on the city.

Its no surprise when I read this http://www.aljazeera.com/news/middleeast/2012/02/2012221439757981.html that Hafez al-Assad, was president at the time of the bombing. I guess the trait of tyrannicide runs in the family. Look at where Syria is today, Bashar al-Assad the son of Hafez has done nothing to alleviate the situation in Syria. But instead his regime has inflicted so much suffering on the people of Syria.

In the effort to keep things underwraps, the government of Syria is keeping the media away. They are doing this so that news of their crack downs on innocent activists does not get out to the world.

How then will social justice and human rights be realized if people are afraid of the government coming after them?
