The Syrian revolt anniversary comes at a time when the country is in the middle of atrocities committed by Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
Assad is not someone who believes in diplomacy, and I do not think he is the kind of person who is willing to move forward in the interest of Syrians. The guy doesn’t care how many civilians are being killed, all he craves is to hold on to power, and to him diplomacy is a joke.
Yesterday the former UN secretary, Kofi Annan, met with Assad to talk about how to end the atrocities within Syria which of course are committed by Assad’s regime… go figure!
Annan who is now representing the UN-Arab league envoy, is hopeful that Assad will come to his senses and stop this nonsense, and maybe, ( I emphasize Maybe) give up power. That of course is far fetched, we all know we are dealing with some selfless person. Sometimes I wonder if he is really human, you know with remorse, kindness, and all those attributes a normal human would possess.
Do I have any hope of him doing any thing positive?
I certainly do not trust this so-called “power-hungry” Assad, he is so into himself. He has no soul or rather sympathy for the Syrians. These people who tried to stand-up for their rights, are scare for their lives because they are being hunted like animals.
And for those thinking that diplomatic talks will make him realize what these people are going through, think again. We are not dealing with a normal person, we are dealing with a monster, and trust me –he is not giving up easily. Force is the only answer.
