Hello World,
Welcome and thank you for dropping by.
My name is Exildah Mulambe Smith. I moved to the US in 2003 from Zambia, a landlocked country which is located in Southern Africa. Zambia is home to the famous Victoria Falls, beautiful national parks, and great tourist attractions to spark your curiosity.
Zambia is a friendly nation that embraces different cultures and religions. The prominent language spoken in Zambia is English, and on top that, there are about 75 Zambian languages spoken by diversified tribal groups around the country. I do speak about four languages which are: Bemba, Lozi, Nyanja, and Tonga.
I have worked hard to get where I am today by keeping education my first priority. I put myself into school while working retail. In 2009, I graduated from Edmonds Community College and later transferred to a four-year college.
In 2011, I went to the University of Washington. In 2013, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Social Sciences.
I’m still putting the pieces of my puzzle together and I don’t know how long it’s gonna take. Either way, I’m happy with each step I have taken so far. Hard work yields fruitful results, keep on trying all the way through.
The sky is the limit, if I can do it, you can too!
My blog is such an inspiration and every time i feel down, I just open my blog and post my raw thoughts. It is so therapeutic and calming to the soul.
Blog History:
I started my blog back in 2011 as a class project, back then I used to write about the revolts in the Middle East also known as the Arab Springs. If you remember so well, social media was at the heart of letting the world see what was going own without government propaganda in the news feed. Social media such as Twitter and Facebook set the tone to citizen journalism, there were no more gatekeepers trying to control the news, all news feeds were raw and uncorrupted.
Well, now my focus has shifted and I write anything that piques my interest, from poems to current events and sometimes social media and so on. I hope you enjoy reading my blog and always remember to live, laugh, and love.
